Dredging and Reclamation

Nearly all ports during their development need, in one form or the other, the planning, designing and execution of dredging and land reclamation works for water-front or navigation channel development. As early as 1966, TCI has reclaimed vast tracts of land by heavy dredging. One of the major projects of TCI involved the dredging along Pussur River, Bangladesh in which more than 30 million cubic yards had been dredged. This was for a 14 Jetty Port Construction done on behalf of the Bangladesh government. TCI has planned and executed dredging works at several ports and harbour locations around South Asia.

TCI has extensive experience and expertise in all components of dredging operations which includes: survey, bathymetry, planning of dredging projects, dredge-material classification, analysis, laboratory works and the locations of dumping grounds.

Preparation of tender documents for dredging contracts, assistance in selection of dredging contractors, types of dredgers and supervision of dredging operations, is performed by TCI to the complete satisfaction of its clients. TCI has also prepared tenders for the construction of trailer-suction dredgers, work boats, boosting stations and tugs to be built in the local shipyard.

With powerful computers and related software, the entire pre and post dredging & hydrographic survey work is planned and coordinated with top of the line field equipment and through sophisticated instruments such as Echo-Sounders, GPS and Tide Gauges. Dredged quantity calculations, survey of dumping sites, mapping etc. all are carried out by experienced professionals, instruments and survey boats which are available for assignment with TCI.
