Feasibility Study For The Development Of Breakwater at Jabal-e-Nuh and Naval Basin At Gwadar Port
In consonance with MOU signed between Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) and China Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC), a feasibility study is to be conducted for the development of Breakwater at Jabal-e-Nuh and Naval Basin at Gwadar Port. The feasibility study is to be undertaken by CCCC, (through their Chinese Consultants FHDI) in technical collaboration with a local Pakistani firm Techno Consult International appointed by the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).
Techno Consult International was tasked to assist/carryout field investigation work for both land and marine part of the proposed area of the Breakwater at Jable-e-Nuh and Naval Basin at Gwadar Port.
TCI has also availed the expert views & advice by Royal Haskoning DHV; a worldwide known firm for Breakwater design.
Scope of Services:
- Construction of GCPs on Akram Jetty and at various location around Jable-e-Nuh
- Tide Gauge was installed at Akram Jetty to get water level data. Valeport tide gauge with telemetry system has been deployed for tide recording
- For wave and current measurements two ADCPs were deployed; one at 10m depth and the other at 20m depth
- Bottom samples were collected and analyzed for grain size determination
- Topographic survey of the requisite area was carried out with quad copter/drone employing trained specialist after getting clearance/approval from PN
- Sub-bottom survey was conducted using SES-2000 light sub bottom profiler, designed for shallow waters and compared against the bore holes
